La Spezia city transportation

Hi - We will need to get from the train station to a rental car office which may be up to 2 miles away. Is there a good city bus system? We are considering Economy Car Hire at Corso Nazionale 72 because of their all inclusive auto insurance and what appears to be a decent price. Does anyone have any comments on this company or this location?

You can get the S & L buses which run every 15 mins from outside the station and get off on Via San Bartolomeo (which is the road which runs by the port) at Corso Nazionale. The stop you need to get off at is the one for Esselunga supermarket( which is on Corso Nazionale ) and is about 300 metres after the junction of Via San Bartomoleo and Viale Italia and then up the street that runs upwards from the port
