Why do you need a tour? There are trains from Florence to the Cinque Terre that are more direct and faster than any coach tour.

This company does a day trip from Florence using a minibus , it gets high ratings on TA but is really for serious walkers who want to walk the trails.

You can do it yourself using the train which will take just under 3 hours. Take a early train to Monterosso, after walking around there go down to the habour and get an all day ferry ticket to Portovenere which goes via the other CT villages. After lunch there take the return ferry to Riomaggiore, walk the flat trail to Manarola or Vernazza, returning to Florence from either of these stations. A full day but could be worthwhile.

I was pleased with Artviva but did not take their CT tour. - you can google them

Regardless of a tour or going on your own, make sure the weather is reasonable, I found the CT dismal if it is raining and with only one day you want it to be a good one.. It will be a long day, as others have said

Thanks for all Your help. From the posts received, it may be better to do CT ourselves.
