Yes! A number of the local travel offices and most of the hotels will arrange a trip for you... normally coach to the port of Venice then take the boat in via the Laguna... wonderful view... the best and only way to see Venice for the first time. These excursions normally include a trip in a gondola...

Well it was like this 4 years ago!

Hope to do the same this year August 2006... have left the last unsuitable woman behind this time!! Any offers?!

From a true hopeful English romantic!

Best way to travel to Venice... Bonelli Line Bus leaves Rimini 6.30am arrives Venice by 11am... stay overnight in small hotel... Locanda Novo, near Rialto Bridge was really nice... only £42 High Season for the room... Bonelli bus back 630pm next day so you get a day and a half in Venice and can see it by night. A 24 hour boat pass is less than £7... I went to a wonderful Vivaldi concert in the evening... mornings in Venice avoid the heat of the sun in St Marks Square...

If you drive, hiring a car to visit Ravenna is well worthwhile... if you are an F1 GP Ferrari fan, visit Modena then Marinello... the home of Galeria Ferrari (all the winning cars from the past years) then come back via Bologna... beautiful city.

The autostrada are a joy to drive on... and Italian drivers blow their horns a little but standards and courtesy are are lot better than in the UK!!

Just got back from RImini and did the Venice day trip by train.

Left Rimini at 7.22am and arrived at Venice at 11am - with a 20 minute wait and change of trains in Bologna.

Full day in Venice, and then took the 9.22pm train direct back to RImini, arriving at 1.10am.

First class seats cost 51 Euros. Nice and comfortable, and allowed the chance to sleep on the trip back,.

you can also consider the "Bonelli Bus" option.. their website is www.bonellibus.com
