Urbino travel via bus

Hi--I want to travel from Arrezo or Sansepolcro to Urbino. How long does that take via bus or is there a better way? Also, what is the fastest way

from Urbino to Rome or Perugia? Thank you

It's a rather complicated trip from Tuscany to Urbino. Your best departure point would be Arezzo. There are a few direct trains daily from there to Bologna; there you would change for a train to Pesaro or Fano, and in Pesaro or Fano, you would catch a bus to Urbino. Otherwise, you would have at least one more change of train, either in Foligno or Florence. You can see the train schedules here:

The *winter* bus schedules from Pesaro/Fano to Urbino are here:

The summer schedules are not available on line yet, I suppose. Many of the buses from Pesaro require a change of bus in Fano. For this reason, it may make more sense to take the train to Fano and catch the bus there. However, more trains stop in Pesaro than in Fano, so depending on the train you catch, it might be better to get the bus from Pesaro. No matter how you do it, it would be a long and tedious trek.

The quickest way to Rome from Urbino is a bus that runs once daily (except Sundays and holidays), leaving Urbino at 6:09 AM and arriving at Rome Tiburtina at 10:35. They may have service on Sundays also, and you may have to change buses at Cagli or some other point on the way.

Getting to Perugia from Urbino would be a similar trek to that from Arezzo to Urbino. The bus from Urbino to Rome used to stop at several points near Perugia, but it now goes nonstop to Rome from a town not far from Urbino called Pontericcioli. You would have to take the bus back to Pesaro or Fano and go by train from there.
