Just wanted to mention, I did remember I just emailed them and didn't send a form letter, or sign up for anything.

I gave them my full name and address, and my basic itinerary and requested any information and maps they had. And that it would be helpful.

Rivergallery - My local office is Los Angeles, but I couldn't find a e-mail address for them. I signed up and confirmed my registration but the site is unavailable. How can I request a packet from them?

Could just email them using the email I posted, that is what I did, and from the LA office, ;)

Thnaks RG, for an excellent suggestion. I am in touch with the local Italy tourism office in my country, and it looks like they will be able to send maps and info as well.
