Since we will be renting an apartment and won’t have the use of a concierge, I figured I better have the logistics taken care of before we arrive.
We will be staying between Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Given all the other walking we will be doing, I’m thinking a taxi to the Vatican/St. Peters would be best (can always walk back). When taking a taxi (anywhere in the world) there is always a high risk of getting taken for a ride. Does anyone have an idea of the cost from the Pantheon to the Vatican?
I assume this is metered (and not a flat rate like form the airport) and I should just have some idea of the correct direction to make sure we are not accidentally paying for city tour on the way to where we actually want to go.
There has been so much discussion of rip- offs from the airport, and also comments that rides within the city are very reasonable - that I'm confused.
Thanks for the help.
