 B&B Near Spanish Steps

Hi! We are coming to Rome in September and looking for a B&B near the Spanish Steps--around $180 US dollars a night. THANKS!

September can be quite busy, so, you may wish to book very soon.

You might want to look at B&B Baldassini (see: http://www.baldassinibeb.it/), which is recommended around here a lot, and also, has largely very positive reviews. It's within walking distance to the Spanish Steps. :)

Hopefully, they'll still have rooms within your price range.

Have a great trip! :)

Baldassini is not by the spanish steps as the OP requested. You might try venere.com for apartments and B&B's in the spanish steps area. YOu can also check out reviews on slowtravel.com.

The Baldassini is recommended mainly by one person on this forum and the reviews are mostly by one time posters. Do your research before you book to make sure of the place you are staying. Venere.com and slowtravel offer reviews by people who are documented to have stayed in the establishment they are reviewing.

Have a look at our favourite place to stay in Rome - the Hotel Parlamento on via delle Convertite - just a 10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps.

The rooms are quiet and comfortable, the staff always welcoming and helpful. Their rates are well within your budget.

Enjoy!

G'day kasw,

The Baldassini which has been mentioned on this thread IS a wonderful find, a real gem!

It is a stone's throw from the Spanish Steps.

As a past guest I can highly recommend it, as has the other TA member.

I am unable to reveal here all of it's fantastic points as I dont want to appear to be promoting one particular B&B, even though I have stayed there and will be returning in March.

Should you wish to find out more about this great find please feel free to private message me and I can forward any info you require to your private email address - this way it remains fair to all of our TA community.

Have a great time in Rome,

Melissa :o)

According to viamichelin.com the distance from Via delle Coppelle 37 int. 2 (the B&B not being promoted) to the Spanish Steps is 1 km. That's more than a few steps for most people and definitely further than I can throw a stone.

I'm not entirely sure why there are snarky posts here, as it was simply a recommendation, and that's really it. When reading comments about it (and no, not by 1st timers, and no, not just TA reviews, but reviews by people who've actually stayed there), its within walking distance (10 to 20 minutes, depending on how fast you walk). That may or may not be reasonable to the OP (or others), but, I'm certainly not trying to force the OP to stay there!

Nevertheless, I agree with the suggestion about www.venere.com/ You can limit the criteria to the Spanish Steps area, and you'll be able to find a whole variety of accommodation. I inserted in some dates for September, and I could only get four B&Bs, so, it may be best to book soon, before the pool of B&Bs get even smaller! Well, of course, that's just if you wish to book on Venere.

You might want to check out B&B Corso 22, which has largely positive reviews on TA, and mixed ones (more positive than negative though!) on Venere, which should be under your budget.

Have fun planning, and have an AMAZING trip! :)

Not really sure about the snarky replies comment but I can assure you that the B&B mentioned is not by the Spanish Steps and I don't think the OP is looking for a twenty minute walk to get to the area he is interested in.

Accommodations in Rome tend to fill up quickly so I would suggest picking something soon. With a budget of 180 per night you can get a B&B, apartment or nice hotel. You may want to consider all 3 types of accommodations when doing your research.

You don't say how long you will be staying but most apartments and B&B's usually require at least a 3 night stay. If this meets your requirements then you will be fine but if not you may find it difficult to find a place.
