 Rome-Where to stay?

My husband and I are coming to Italy fr a romantic holiday in November this year and are coming to Rome for 2 days. What is a good to high end hotel to stay in?

Also where are some nice restaurants to dine at, day or night?

One of the higher of the high end hotels in Rome is the Hotel Hassler, at the top of the Spanish Steps.

Another very nice hotel is Albergo del Senato near the Pantheon. I stayed there in March and it was quite good.

Be aware that unless you find a restaurant run by a Brit ex-pat, unless you hotel serves something, nobody serves breakfast. Breakfast is the croissant and coffee, and other sweet stuff that you can get at Pasticceria. No bacon, eggs, waffles, or pancakes.

Lunch is served 1-3pm (maybe 12:30 at a stretch). You can be sandwiches and snacks at bars and cafes, but restaurants close between lunch and dinner. Dinnner typically does not start till 7 pm.

Good suggestions made here... Hassler and Senato would be on my short list given your description.
