 Convent Question

My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy and we are interested in trying to stay in convents for at least part of the trip. My question is… Has anyone stayed at the Istituto Maria Santissima Bambina across St. Peter’s Square from the Vatican or in the convent Le Suore Di Lourdes by the Spanish Steps? I am interested in staying at either of these convents while in Rome, but I can find no real recent review written on them. I would also love it if someone had pictures of what the rooms looked like. Any insight would be most appreciated! We are also WIDE open for suggestions! Thank you.

There are these old posts that mention Istituto Maria Santissima Bambina maybe email the TA member to ask if they do not see this post.

maybe private message the TA members to ask if they do not see this post for the one that mentions it.

hope this helps as a start.

I have stayed at Le Suore Di Lourdes, it was about 6 years ago. I took my daughter and her girlfriend, and myself (3 women, girls about 18 yrs old). We had a very nice clean room with 3 twin beds, facing the street, and our own private bathroom. The sisters did not speak English, but we were able to communicate and we really enjoyed our time there. The curfew was 10:30 PM, but that was not a problem for us. They do lock the front door at lunch time, so if you come in around that time, you won't be able to go back out until after they eat lunch. That was not a problem for us either, we just took a little nap.

My husband and I are going back in a couple of years, and I plan on staying here again. The location is great and really does show that "location, location, location" does matter. Nice and close walking to many of Romes best spots to see. We walked everywhere, and of course the Metro was nice and close. Have fun!

My husband and I stayed at BOTH convents when we were in Rome this past May. We were very happy with our decision.
