Bus times from Cadaques/Barcelona and Figueres/Cadaques |
|
I wanted to avoid renting a car while in northern Spain as I had been able to rely solely on public transportation in southern Spain. I hadn't been to Cadaques since 1987 and wanted to return as a 20 year anniversary. I was glad the trip was manageable by bus. The Sarfa times I'd checked on-line were not entirely accurate. I am posting this from the schedule I used while in the area this month: As of April 2007: Monday - Saturday Cadaques to Barcelona 7.00 16.00 arrive 9.15 18.15 Holidays and Sunday Cadaques to Barcelona 7.00 19.00 arrive 9.15 21.15 Barcelona to Cadaques Monday to Saturday 11.30 20.30 arrive 13.45 22.45 Holidays and Sunday 9.30 20.30 arrive 11.45 22.45 Girona to Cadaques as follows: train or bus to Figueres. Both stations are right next to each other in both Girona and Figueres, so if taking the train to Figueres, the bus connection is a short distance, quick and easy. If time to wait, there is a cheap internet office between both stations. By bus, Figueres to Cadaques: Monday to Friday depart Figueres bus station: 11.00 13.00 19.15 arrive Cadaques 12.05 14.05 20.20 Holidays and weekends depart Figueres bus station: 10.00 13.30 15.30 20.15 arrive Cadaques 11.05 14.35 16.35 21.20 By bus, Cadaques to Figueres Monday to Friday 7.15 14.25 17.00 arrive Figueres 8.15 15.30 18.05 Holidays, Sat. and Sun Cadaques to Figueres 8.25 14.25 16.55 19.10 arrive Figueres 9.30 15.30 18.00 20.15 When catching the bus from Cadaques, the Cadaques bus station office didn't open until a few minutes before the bus was departing (though it's possible to buy the ticket earlier, so I was told). The bus will pull up to the ticket office from a parking lot about 100 meters away. The driver wouldn't let us on the bus while in the big parking lot, even if it's raining and you're soaked. We had to board in front of the ticket office. The bus will stop in Roses for a few minutes, so if you have to use the toilet, as the driver probably will, you have time to do so. It's not possible at other stops. The Cadaques to Barcelona bus stops at the Estacion Nord. We were told by the nice woman at the information desk not to let bags out of our sight. |

Thanks for that. Good to see there are morning buses too. I'm sure I'll be referring people to your post in the future. | ||||||
