I am looking at doing a similar trip.

Did you end up sticking to this itinerary?

Did you find 3 nights in Toledo too much?

I am keen to hear how it all went, it sounds like a great trip.

Cheers, merrymegsy

We just got back Jan 16 and am happy to report the trip was great. Everything went without a hitch, loved all the hotels, train service was excellent and every place we visited was beautiful. I did make two minor modifications along the way and was happy to have done so. We stayed 2 nights in Toledo (instead of 3) and one night in Cuenca (instead of 2). We changed Toledo because of an imminent RENFE strike the day we had originally wanted to travel; it turned out well. Had we stayed an extra night we would have entertained ourselves walking the old streets. We reduced our stay in Cuenca because after arriving in the afternoon and walking around the old town, we thought we would be better to have an extra night and day in Valencia instead of Cuenca.

In a nutshell, this was our itinerary:

Madrid 5 nights (rented an apt as at this point it was 5 of us traveling)

One day day trip to Segovia

Toledo (2 nights - Hotel Sta. Isabel)

Sevilla (5 nights - Hotel Casa de la Juderia)

Granada (3 nights - Hotel Casa 1800)

Corodoba (3 nights - Hospederia de El Churrasco

Cuenca (1 night - El Parador de Cuenca)

Valencia (2nights - Melia Plaza)

Madrid (2nights - Hospes)

Originally we had thought we would rent a car while in Sevilla to visit Ronda and/or Arcos de la Frontera; however, we were very relaxed and rented bikes to wander around enjoying the city.

I booked all the train tickets using the RENFE website but being EXTREMELY patient! It took me over 2 weeks to be able to book the 11train legs of our trip.

Let me know if you have any questions or want some specifics
