Which train station is which?

I have become confused by various comments - are these two stations in different locations: Maria Zambrano and Alameda-Centro? Am I right in thinking that Alamedo is the station to go to for a train to the airport? I am trying to decide on a hotel as close as possible to the airport station to help us cope with a late night arrival and a departure the next day.

Thank you Ian and mantalk - that is exctly the clarification I was looking for. We need that information for our exit - will have to cab it in from the airport after our near-to-midnight arrival.

Looking for obvious signs of a railway station at ground level is a sure recipe for unhappiness when it is in fact underground!

Just trying to avoid the frustration of wandering from St Pancras looking in desperation for London Bridge station - which was up a side street and, in 2011, hiding behind a screen of plastic and scaffolding, in preparation for the Games. The locals for sure knew where it was - just none around on a Sunday morning - and we missed the tiny sign attached to an overhead bridge.

So thanks for this local info - feel much more comfortable now!

Location for Alameda Centro St - Estación Alameda Malaga

Copy the following co-ordinates, visit the Google Maps website, paste the co-ordinates into the search.

36°42'58.00"N 4°25'31.92"W

Location:

Walk along the Alameda Principal on the left hand side (heading towards the bridge/river).

As you get to the bridge/river, turn left down the pedestrian walkway and walk along the river.

The pedestrian walkway merges with Calle José M García Caparrós (you can't miss the station)

The station is on the junction of Calle José M García Caparrós and Calle Linaje.

Hope this helps

Appreciate the effort - thanks. We have now done the Malaga visit and to simplify matters stayed at the Barcelo Malaga which was very adjacent to the station. As was the Barcelo Sants in Barcelona. We now have a recipe - when needing rail travel, stay at a Barcelo hotel! Simplicity itself! Thanks again for your efforts CSUK.
