It looks as if the new fare structure involves some changes in name too with "Web" and "Estrella" being replaced with "Promo" at 70% discount and "Promo+" which will attract a discount of 30% but also allow some flexibility about exchanges and cancellations. All will become clear after the change on 8th February though, no doubt.

The Renfe website has been re-designed, made much easier to use and the new fares and fare structure is loaded. The Promo and Promo+ fares have arrived!

I am looking to book to Madrid, so hopefully it will be easier than it was before and i won't need any Diazapan!!

I keep getting 'Saturacion en el Servicio' so presumably it is overwhelmed. When I did manage to get some Málaga - Madrid AVE fares up (for mid-March) not only are they down 11%, with the equivalent fall in all the discounted tickets, but the discounts appear to be for EVERY train (they certainly weren't yesterday).

Four ticket categories: M = Mesa, P = Promo (non refundable, non-changeable), P+ = Promo+ (changeable but only on payment of a 20% fee plus any difference between original and current fare price), F = Flexible (fully changeable/refundable).

The Promo and Promo+ fares are MUCH better than the old Web and Estrella fares, 70% discount on the F fare with the Promo!

I wonder if they've actually changed the payment processing at the same time as doing this? Let's hope so!
