“ Ayamonte, Spain to Jabugo, Spain ”

My husband wants to go to Jabugo to see the ham curing. We will be coming from Lagos (sea grotto boats) to Sao Bras del Aportel (Pelcor cork) to Ayamonte. To go from Ayamonte to Jabugo should we go north from near Ayamonte to Villanueva, Puebla and Valdelamusa or go east past Huelva to Trigueros and up N435 through Valverde?

We like to see the variety of the country as we drive through it. Is the El Andevalo area interesting to see or the N495 the better route because it is a larger road?

I have found little about this area of Spain on the internet. Thank you.

You can either head north to Beja and then east on the N260 to Jabugo and Galaroza, or follow the N435 north from Huelva. Some of the best Jabugo is processed in Galaroza and El Repilado.

To find out more about where the pigs are raised, you might want to check out the Tourist office of Extremadura.
