DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Start: Berlin

Destination: Wernigerode

With a rail pass you can use any train to Wernigerode.

Not covered is however the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway

2. Re: What train?

We will be there in early August. Is it necessary to buy tickets in advance for the train from Wernigerode to Brocken? And is it even possible to buy tickets in advance from the USA?

Many thanks...your links were very helpful!

No need to buy tickets in advance. They don't sell out. Just show up a bit early (20 minutes or so) to get good seats.

4. Re: What train?

Seat reservations are only possible for groups of 10 and more persons.

Buying tickets in advance is only possible at the counters of the HSB. But as these tickets are not for a specific trains and cannot sell out there is no real advantage of buying in advance.

A return ticket is valid 3 days.
