Dbahn online ticket purchased id required query

I have a potential problem regarding 2 online tickets (special fare ICE ) that I have purchased on the dbahn website. I have specified my EC card as identification but have had to cancel the card today.

I went into the dbahn centre at the Hauptbahnhof today and they were unable to tell me if I would be charged again, by the train conductor!

Does anyone have any experience in this - I do not travel until Tuesday.

Thank you

Do you still have your EC card? Just take in with you on your train trip. It plays no role if the card is still valid or not. The purpose of the ID is just to have something unique belonging to you which is difficult to copy. Unlike with your DB Online-Ticket which one could easily print out several times.

Do you still have the card? Take it with you. It does not matter if it is not valid any more. They can compare the number and all should be well.

Yes I still have the card (a friend accidentally picked it up with hers yesterday so I thought I had lost it - hence canceling it this morning) as I told the 2 ladies in the dbahn office.

Thank you so much for the replies my long weekend holiday to a new part of Germany can still go ahead now :-)

Thank you
