Where to stay?

I am having quite the time trying to find the right place to stay for us when we go to Munich this may.

Let me first start by saying that this will be my girlfriend and I's first time to Munich.

We are looking to do a lot of the touristy things while we're there, so we need a good location. I have been reading that around the Marienplatz is a good choice, but I am definitely open to suggestions, as I haven't been able to find much in our budget (75-90 euros a night). We are looking for a private room, and private bathroom.

I normally book apartments when I travel, but I am not sure on a good location to stay (other than around the Marienplatz).

Let me know your thoughts on locations to stay, as well as potential hotels.

I am open to hearing anything!

Thanks so much in advance.

€75-90 per person or per room.

Much depends on your dates. Munich has numerous business fair throughout the year and this can hike prices up.

Motel One have various places around Munich.

Good location is MotelOne Sendlinger Tor

Other in Sendlinger Tor

Munich has a good public transport system and other areas a possibility (e.g Motel One Deutsches Museum is near Rosenheimerplatz. Rosenheimerplatz on the S8 direct link to the airport. Only 2 stops to Marienplatz or a pleasant 15mins walk.

Rosenheimerplatz is in Haidhausen which is a trendy/desirable place to live and also popular place for a night out. Well known for its various bars and restaurant.

There are also various discount bakeries around Munich where you can walk in and get a tray of various things and a coffee should you not wish to pay for breakfast.

In the "Passage" area under Karlsplatz (north end othe the Neuhauserstrasse pedestrian zone from Marienplatz) you will find a shopping area with numerous food places.

If you find somewhere but not sure of location etc just comeback and ask

I was on a similar budget and stayed at the Hotel Jedermann because it was a 10-minute walk from the train station and it was the cheapest option I found. It was a great hotel. Private room, private bathroom, and there's also an amazing breakfast buffet included in the price. There's also a tram stop right outside the hotel and it'll take you to Marienplatz in about 15 minutes.
