Rentalcars.com

Has anyone had experience using rental cars.com? They seem to have a good rate for a pickup in Munich, but I am unfamiliar with them.

DO NOT USE this awful company.I chose them as they came up best on a comparison site for a 2 day rental in Slovenia and having the day before I travel gone to print off the voucher seen 50 Euros worth of 'payable locally' comprising of road tax and Winterisation ?? fee. When I tried to cancel - No chance @the booking is comfirmed.

I have been totally mislead by this company and will never use them again and advise others to avoid

I used rentalcars, com. In my 35 years of travel it was by far the worst travel choice I ever made. Save the money for the casino, or the beach bonfire instead.

In my case they switched the contact phone number and erased the last letter of my confirmation number. Although I though I had a contract with "Budget" , they never heard of me. They double book you, then cancel only one of the reservations, pocketing the entire amount without the knowledge of the rental companies. Brilliant, actually..

Please, please do not use rentalcars.com. I recently hired a car through them at what I thought was a competitive rate. Upon collection of the car (in Italy) from Gold Car Rentals, I was told I had to pay a compulsory Accident Damage Waiver, adding an extra 180Euros to my original cost (not including a 21% local tax). Rentalcars.com refuse to accept that Gold Car Rentals acted dishonestly and that they mis-sold a product that was not at all compulsory. Just save yourself the hassle and go direct to one of the well known companies - there is reason they can find you a car at last minute with companies you've never heard of.

Rental car.com is a total rip off. My son hired a car to collect in Cancun, but his flight from Gatwick with British Airways was delayed by 2 hours, so they marked him down as a no show, never though he gave them his flight number so they could monitor the flight. He has lost all his money and started his hold jay off really badly as he had to pay for another hire car.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AND LOOK ELSEWHERE PLEASE

the fault lies with the rental company, not the booking agent. who was the rental company? what were the terms and conditions of the rental company? if rentalcars provided the flight number to the rental company, then you would have a legitimate claim against the rental company. I suggest that you ask your cc company to dispute on the basis that the paid for service was not provided.

Rentalcars.com - The worst customer service I have been unfortunate enough to encounter!

Hired a car in Australia with damage waiver included. Was unfortunately involved in a minor accident and was forced to pay nearly £2000 insurance excess with the assurance that this would be refunded by rentalcars.com.

3 months on I am still waiting for my money. Please save yourselves some stress and go elsewhere for your holiday hire. This event has totally ruined our holiday and is still hanging over us now.

this is a forum for munich...in Germany.

apart from that, it would not be rentalcars who would refund the money! did you not take scdw? if you had, there would have been no hold on your card. it is possible that you took out excess insurance through rentalcars, but they arrange this with an independent insurer. having worked for an insurance company, I can tell you that insurers deliberately drag their heels in paying out money. perhaps you could contact the actual insurer, as presumably you got a copy of the arranged policy?
