Reserve a table - Oktoberfest - September 18th

Looking to share a table on the opening night of Oktoberfest. Preferably Paulaner...but...willing to share anywhere. There are 3 of us.

Also...anyone know what the chances are in getting in w/o a reserved table on the 1st night?

The chance of getting in on a saturday without a reservation is very slim, unless you wait at the door in the morning from about 7AM, and even then no guarantee.

But, I doubt you will have any chance to reserve a table on that day, they are usually given to longstanding customers and companies only.

If you would get a reservation though, you can easliy find people who will share it with you.

Late at the evening you may manage to sneak to one of the tent (2yrs ago we were at the opening and was lucky to get to Löwenbräu at about 9pm). Otherwise arrive to the tent before 8am (doors are opened at 9).

And well, you know - there is no way to have reservation on first Saturday. You can buy it on German ebay, but you can imagine what the prices are.

Sometimes one can be lucky. Last year I was there on the second saturday, about 6PM in the evening. There was a huge crowd waiting in vain to get in at each of the tents. Then a guy who was also from Holland approached me wanting to sell two wrist bands for access to the HB tent. We paid 25 euros for the both of them, so a rather decent price.

well, the second Saturday is a bit different from the first one. At first Saturday, tents close the doors even before the beginning and not normally open them until late evening. On the second one you still can find seats if you arrive at about afternoon.

We are a party of eight also attending Oktoberfest on opening day. We were told that all the tents have to have some unreserved seats available, however you need to line up early in the morning and then you will be stuck there for the day as if you leave you will need to get back in line to get back in. We are trying this attending in the morning to eat and drink from the small tents (as opposed to the 14 large ones) and ride the rides, then head over to Schottenhamel’s Lowenbraukeller for "Das Wiesnzelt” at Stiglmaierplatz! They are touting it as the 15th Oktoberfest tent. Here is their web address: http://www.daswiesnzelt.de/index.php?lang=de

“Das Wiesnzelt” enlarges the Oktoberfest again by 3,000 seats – and a whole lot of real Wiesn-feeling. Sing along party-classics with the Bavarian band “Barfuss” and dance the night away to cool DJ-tunes at the legendary After-Wiesn-Party. Tables are located in the centre of the main ballroom.

The ticket price of € 38.00 includes a meal voucher worth € 16.00 and the entrance for the Almdudler After Oktoberfest Party. Doors open at 6.30pm.

Stiglmaierplatz train station is on U7 route."

maybe we'll see you there! Hope this helps.

--> I wouldn't count on this! I think this happens only when you are a really cute girl wearing dirndl.
