Where do you pick this up and how long of a trip is it? Plus what is the illumination in heidelberga about?

For a boat trip on the Neckar from Heidelberg see www.rnf-schifffahrt.de . There are various possible cruises of different lengths. A few years ago we did an enjoyable several hour cruise upstream and return from Heidelberg going only through one lock, the Heidelberg one. You will pass a few castles and the view of Heidelberg from the river is nice. You may also be able to get off one boat and return by another later in the day.

I just went to this website and it looks like the last river cruise is at 3:30. This would be too early for us. We would definitely need something, later.

Also, according to the website, the round trip to Neckargermund is 2 hours, while the one to Neckarsteinach is 3 hours. Is Neckargermund okay? With the kids, even a one hour cruise would be sufficient.

Is there another company that has later and shorter cruises?
