What nostalgic train do you mean? There are several steam events on normal rail lines. Or do you mean the Sauschwänzlebahn (http://www.sauschwaenzlebahn.de/home.html)? That is the only rail line i am aware of with regular "nostalgic" runs.

Hello Altamiro,

Yes that is that one I mean, though I am having problems deciphering their website.

I would like to know the route, costs, if you need to book ahead, where do you get on the train, where do you go to? Does it go back to the place you started.

If there are others that are similiar I would love to know about them also.

Thank you

The Sauschwänzlebahn line is right on the southern edge of the Black Forest at Blumberg. The train runs from there to Weizen. The running days, times and fares are here

sauschwaenzlebahn.de/fileadmin/data/sauschwa…

There is usually a morning and an afternoon train each day

It is easiest to drive but on some days there are local train connections at one or both ends - times on bahn.de. I would book in advance, we went a couple of years ago and it was full of coach parties so we couldn't get on the morning train and had to wait until the afternoon run. As we were driving I passed the time following the train by car and taking photos! They now seem to have an online booking system here:

There are sometimes steam runs from Titisee to Schluchsee on the normal railway -
