First European Trip |
|
My mom and I are planning on going to Europe in April/May. I would like to ask which 5 top countries should we visit? On our list are France (Paris), Germany, Italy and Spain. UK is also an option but we have to get a separate visa for that so it's ok if we don't get to visit there. If you have any other suggestions, please reply. We actually feel that 3-4 countries are enough for a 16-20 day visit around Europe or is it too much?
I would also like to know the places in each country that we shouldn't miss. Thank you so much!

Possible is almost everything but I personally think that 16 to 20 days are way too short to visit France, Germany, Italy, Spain and maybe even the UK. You can easily spend weeks in just one of the countries. If you don't want to spend most of your time travelling and also see and spend some time in each country you should visit in my opinion not more than 2 countries. Even if you concentrate on only two countries you should think about what interests you most and how you can travel best from A to B. Report as inappropriate

Thank you for your response. We have actually narrowed down our choice to Germany, Italy and Paris. We will be in a guided tour so we won't be able to freely move around, and consequently the tour will only let us enjoy one place for a short time. As much as we would want to stay in only 2 countries at our own pace, we can't afford to be on our own since friends say we will probably waste time getting lost. A friend will follow from Germany to our final destination, which is France. I would like to know how he can get from Darmstadt (Frankfurt) to Paris? Which is the easiest transportation (train)? Thanks so much for your help! Report as inappropriate

Hi goldfish19! The "easiest" way to get from Frankfurt to Paris is flying. There are lots of possibilities to fly from Frankfurt to Paris. Check www.skyways.de for offers. Going by train is also no problem, but it takes somewhere between 5 and 9 hours and is not necessarily cheaper. Report as inappropriate

Thanks for the info! I checked out the website but couldn't find the English button if there was any so I wasn't able to get a rate for a plane fare to Paris. If there is someone here who knows around how much it would be, either by air or land, I would appreciate your help. Thanks again! Report as inappropriate

Hi, We are flying in to Frankfurt in June. Which tour company did you use to travel to France, and Italy from Germany? How long are your going for? Thanks Report as inappropriate
