help please?

We are planning a celebration vacation to Provence. The two travelling are myself and my mother - we are healthy able bodied travellers with a love of beautiful scenery, art, wine, food and perfume- ok gardens and antiques too.

We are hoping to get some recommendations for our trip, which is far off, but isn't half the fun in the planning? We hope to go in September 2011 for 7 - 10 days and some of the villages or cities we are interested in input about are....

Eze, Arles, Les Baux-de-Provence, Grasse, Gourdon, gourdes, Loumarin, Vence, Antibes etc...

Where should we fly into? Where should we stay as a home base and what is reasonable driving from each location?

It is a lot but we have a lot of time to really be ready - so Thank you in advance for any assistance!!

1. Re: help please?

You may want to consider flying into Nice and spending the first part of your stay based in Nice and exploring those places that are relatively nearby: Eze, Grasse, Vence Antibes etc. I would then recommend that you pick up a car and drive over to Western Provence and establish another base there for your exploration of sites iin that part of Provence: Arles, Les Baux, Lourmarin, Gordes etc.

It is wonderful that you are beginning to plan your trip this early, as you will be very familiar with the wntire region by the time you arrive, and that familiarity will greatly enhance your experiences ijn one of the most interesting and beautiful places.
