Hi. Going to French Riviera for the first time in August. We are renting an apartment on rue Segurane. Is is a safe area of the town?

Apart from some of the distant suburbs everywhere is safe in Nice. There is quite a bit of pick pocketing and other kinds of theft but violent crime is almost unknown. When we had a flat in Nice I often used to walk back at 11.00pm or so and always met elderly ladies walking their dogs with no sign of nervousness. The heavy traffic on Rue Segurane is much more likely to be a problem.

Think Rue Segurane is a decent position in Nice: close to Old Town and not far from the Port. You could be in far worse areas!
