Travel from Avignon to Marseille airport help please

I have read many posts on this but I am confused.

Which is the best way to travel from Avignon to Marseille airport?

(I think I am right in that Marseille is the airport that I need to travel back to the UK)

I would like to be able to travel there without having to change bus or train if possible as I'm good at getting lost!

Any help appreciated thank you.

Assuming you depart from Marseille Provence Airport, you purchase a train ticket from Avignon Centre Ville to Vitrolles Aeroport / Marseille Provence. The ticket will be approximately 16€ one way. There are many trains throughout the day. Some take up to 1.5 hours, some take 55 minutes (depends upon how many stops are made along the way). Once you arrive at Vitrolles Aeroport, you then take the shuttle from the train station to the airport (it is included in the price of your ticket). There is an intercom at the train station to call for the shuttle if it is not there when you descend from the train.

The shuttle will take you directly to the airport terminals.

You can read all about it here:

I second the above advice. In summer there are direct flights from Avignon to Southampton operated by Flybe.

Thank you will look at that link in a moment.

I live near London so need to fly to gatwick heathrow or Luton.

I am getting a lift to Avignon but need to fly back which is why I am looking at airports and how to get there from Avignon!

Don't dismiss Southampton out of hand. There are frequent trains to London from the airport train station taking around 70 minutes, which is a similar time to the journey from Avignon to Marseille airport.

So it could be faster using Southampton than a London airport, though UK trains are more expensive than French ones.

Just realised that the suggestion is Avignon to Southampton - that would save time at the French end.

Will look up fly be now thank you for that .

Flights from Avignon airport, whether to Southampton or London City, tend to be more expensive than easyjet or Ryanair (or BA for that matter) out of Marseille.

From Avignon TGV you can take the TGV to Aix, just a ten minute ride, and pick up the shuttle to the airport from there. Similar shuttle operates from Marseille St Charles, under half an hour away. Much better use of time than going to Vitrolles.
