2 -3 day trip from Paris - Avignon

My husband and I are planning a trip to Paris in June. We would like to take a 2 - 3 day trip from Paris to Avignon. Any suggestions for best way to travel? We don't want to rent a car.

We took the TGV from Paris to Avignon a couple of years ago. It was a tremendously enjoyable way to make the trip.
Fast, clean, easy and quite cheap.
Lodging in Avignon varies widely, you can find some wonderful places as quite reasonable rates.

For the best fares you need to buy your tickets early. They go on sale 90 days in advance. Do purchase directly from TGV Europe, using "Atarctic" as you ticket collection country to avoid being routed to rail Europe, which is more expensive and doesn't offer all of the train times.

The TGV from Paris to Avignon is 2.75 hours. Lots to see and do in and around Avignon...
