Hello, Im exploring cheap ways to get to Avignon. Rail seems to cost above 100 Euros, and airlines aren't fairing any better too. I think im overlooking some better options, anyone has any ideas? Thanks!

Luxembourg to Avignon is 745 klm
For the best prices, book direct with the train operator as far ahead as possible. Tickets go on sale 3 or 4 months before travel, and the cheapest tickets often sell out quickly. Prices keep going up as the travel date gets closer.
You can get train times and costs, and make bookings, in English at www.tgv.europe.com/en but use Antarctic as the "Ticket collection country" in the first screen to avoid the possibility of being transferred to RailEurope, which has higher prices and does not list all the trains. For notes on online booking, see www.nickbooth.id.au/Tips/FrenchTrain.htm
If 100 euros to travel 745km on a fast clean train is too expensive you probably can't afford Europe.
Yep....100 euros to travel that distance is a bargain...
This post is several months old and it's a bit surprising that anyone bothers to pick up on it, particularly to make a critical posting.
There are regular forum posts that mention train tickets Paris to Avignon (700km) for 25 euros or whatever, and best price flights from Brussels to Marseille (900km) are 19€, so it wasn't unreasonable to ask if there are any better options that 100€.
