Just to update the post. It now costs 1:30 euros for a single journey.

It would not hurt to have change at hand. While it is true that the drivers are in general helpful, I saw a passenger had to run to the train station and get change since the driver did not have change for Euro 20 (understandable, though, at 6:30 AM).

Thanks all. Very helpful as we'll be taking the TGV to Avignon later this month, and I inadvertently booked for the TGV station in Avignon!

Buses in Avignon like ones here in the Alpes maritimes and the var regions are not obliged to accept notes over 10, although they may give a credit note for change which can be exchanged for cash at the ticket offices [not exactly handy for folk rushing for a train]

It is much easier to break notes somewhere else before going for a bus

Thanks; the schedule for which you kindly provided the link indicates there isn't a shuttle when I arrive from Paris, 2350.

Can I depend on a taxi being around?
