Just wanted to update you all on some of my excursions, well actually have just only made it to the market in aix on saturday morning but am heading to a few more this week and weekend.
We arrived early...........like 8 am and all the food stands were already set up but the rest were just getting settled in. We used the time to walk around and eyeball the most unbelievable display of fresh food I have ever seen. The best part about getting there early was that it wasnt too crowded and the only other early risers were the locals, which I always enjoy 'attempting' to blend in with. Once the market hit full speed, around 10am, it was bustling with locals and tourists alike and I was in heaven. Of course, I figured I needed to do my share of helping the economy by buying many soaps, linens, provencal pottery (and even a purse) for family --purse was for me.
The market was everything that I expected and more, which is hard when you build something up in your mind. Parking was easy, I just parked in an underground garage and it was 5 euros for 5-6 hours, very worth it to me. I am going to hit some of the other markets in uzes, l'isle sur la sorgue, avignon etc.. but definitly plan to head back to aix.
I only have 2 semi-complaints about my trip and they both were my fault. One was that I didnt bring a bag with wheels so I could load up on food (I already bought one for my next trip) and the second was that I shared my pics with family and now my in-laws are planning a trip over here since it looked to so good---:( haha. Guess ya can't win em all huh?
Thank you everyone who helped me out, I am sure you haven't heard the last from me.
