Caen (Ouistreham) crossing to Portsmouth overnight

We have booked an overnight cabin on board the ferry which leaves at 11.00 p.m. but have discovered we can only board 60 minutes before, i.e. 10 p.m so will need to eat somewhere reasonable beforehand. Any recommendations near Caen/Ouistreham please?

There are plenty of hotels/restaurants/brasseries right by the port in OUistreham.

I quite like the "Marine" I think its called, it is by the carpark, has tables outside and is also a tabac. The food is basic, but dependable, and there are always lots of people there. Some of the slightly fancier restaurants around the square and up the hill are rubbish, depending it seems on travellers who are unlikely to return - I had a fruits de mer in one once, which was far from cheap, and although only 100m from one of the best fish markets in the region, it was all tired and really only just edible. I felt thoroughly ripped off.
