Taxis are completely safe as long as you take a taxi from the official taxi queue and do not accept offers from clandestine drivers soliciting from within the terminals.

Cost to Bastille should be 50€ to 55€. In addition to the metered fare, there will be a 3€ charge for the 4th passenger and a 1€ charge for each bag placed into the trunk. The first bag is not charged.

Expect the final tab to be 56€ to 61€. Tips are not required but I round up to the nearest 5€.

4 people via RER would be 39 Euro so not much savings considering you have to lug your baggage up and down stairs in the metro and walk to your hotel as opposed to door to door service.
