Can someone please identify the waterfall picture for me? Writer did not say where it was taken.
Parc des Buttes Chaumont.
Yes, that would be the Buttes Chaumont in the 19th arrondissement. They are doing some renovations at the moment so all of the water features are not necessarily working.
The Parc des Buttes Chaumont was engineered in the 19th century from an old quarry
The waterfall and grotto are artificial.
The whole place is a sort of 19th century Disney land and it is my favorite park in all of Paris
You will find similar features in the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne which are much larger but mostly flat (the Buttes Chaumont is a hilly park).
Thank you so much to all.
Will the waterfalls be working by May of 2014 when I am there next?
Thank you.Edited: 8:05 pm, November 18, 2013
According to the city's website, the renovations will end in February so everything should be up and running in May. …paris.fr/parc-des-buttes-chaumont-1757
BTW, it is a delightful park, especially on a warm Sunday when French families spread blankets for picnics and catching some rays.
