itinerary needed for a 2 day/3 night stay in paris

Based at the Art Hotel Congres, arriving early evening leaving late afternoon, i require a little help in compiling an efficient itinerary, taking in most of the main attractions, incl Sacre Couer, Montmartre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Champs elysses, Arc De Triomph, etc, incl a seine river cruise or hop on off batobus, and if time Versaille. Not ruling out a 2 1/2 hour bus tour.

Well, you haven't said how long you are going for!? Do you want to do all these things in one afternoon/evening? If so, then a bus tour would be your best bet - just to see them that is.

If you are staying a few days, you will have to advise how long.

Also, the preferred way to organise an itinerary is to go by location. Check on google maps for the location of the places you want to visit to determine which are close to each other. That way you aren't back tracking across Paris and wasting precious time in transit.

He/she has 2 days. No time at all for Versailles, and personally I'd skip the Champs Elysées unless you're car shopping. Get a detailed map of Paris, group a few (3-4 at most, probably) places that are close together, and use www.ratp.fr to figure out how to get around as efficiently as possible ahead of time (nothing eats into precious vacation time like being perpetually lost...though being lost in Paris isn't necessarily the end of the world).

Day 1:

Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Seine river cruise, and if energy/time permits, evening visit to Arc de Triomphe (open late) and Champs Elysees (pretty at night)

Day 2

Notre Dame, possibly a quick walk around the Louvre (outside only), Sacre Coeur, Montmartre

Does this mean you have a little bit of time in the morning? Might be able to save Arc & Champs-Elysees till then. (I'm reading this to mean you arrive one evening, than 2 full days, then leaving on the 3rd afternoon)

Might as well add a quick walk around the Tuelleries on day 2 to see the sculpture and any flowers and the fountains. Adds 1/2 hour and maybe a quick sandwich from the Paul's caravan.

In that case, you have time to see everything on your list, including the really pretty Tuileries gardens.
