Could anyone provide advice on travel between Arras-Reims-Alsace-back to CDG? We will be in Arras for a wedding and had a few days afterwards and thought a jaunt to champagne region would be nice. We will have 4 days, Aug 3-6. We do realize it is high holiday season...
Couple of questions:
1. Is it too ambitious to include Colmar/Alsace? We envisioned leaving Arras midmorning on Aug3, exploring more of Reims Aug4, travel to Alsace Aug5, return Aug6 to CDG. But perhaps Alsace is a stretch. Reims is a no-brainer and I could easily see us spending all of our time there, or cutting the Alsace portion and hitting Epernay for a day instead.
2. Is it possible to make the trip just using trains? SCNF lines? Should those be booked far in advance?
All advice appreciated, especially if there are things we should be aware of traveling in August in France. Thank you!
