My wife and I chose Dijon in Burgundy as a stopping off place between the Alsace and the Champagne region, but were struggling to find good accommodation in Dijon. Eventually, we found "My Home in Dijon" by following a number of mentions in Tripadvisor Forums until we found the web-site. (www.myhomeindijon.com)

We were equally as happy with Dijon as we were with the accommodation.

It is a truly unique and very successful blend of self-catering B&B and apartment. Corinne, the owner, is the perfect hostess and a staunch ambassador for the whole Burgundy region, and her Dijon in particular.

We dealt with Corinne directly via email and contacted her by phone upon our arrival where she met us (and actually helped me park our car!!). She is a charming lady who could not have been more helpful.

Corinne contacted us by email and telephone before, during and after our stay, to make sure everything was going as well as could be, and was very helpful in guiding us on what to see and do in the area (Dijon, Beaune, wine villages, etc). Its a most interesting part of the world.

She had provided goodies in the fridge in the kitchenette for breakfast and lots of maps, magazines, DVDs and free broadband internet access and free international phone calls via the computer. The decor was tasteful and it was great to have some space after so many hotel rooms.

The apartment itself was on the first floor of a building just around the corner from the Ducal Palace (literally 50 metres), right in the very heart of Dijon, close to everything, including the main tourist sights, the market, restaurants, shops, etc.

It was well-appointed and tastefully decorated with double bed, sofa, TV, kitchen with oven and microwave. I have never seen my wife so pleased to see a washing machine - it really was a god-send to help reorganise ourselves after a few weeks away.

If any independent travellers are looking for great value in B&B-type or self-catering apartment accommodation in fabulous Dijon, we would highly recommend My Home in Dijon. For us Aussies away for 5 weeks, it certainly lived up to its name.

Good to see this review is back. I thought it had been censored. Since TA doesn’t allow reviews of self catering accommodations in the hotel/B&B section, it is the only place one can post a comment. Thank you MI4 (and TA!)

Yes, but seeing it is a first-and-only post, and it claims that there was nothing even slightly wrong with the apartment, I wonder whether the author owns the apartment.

Given that the OP has reviews and pics of other places going back three years I'd bet that this review is for real. Looks like a nice place.

Sydneynick,

I'm very pleased to confirm your cynicism is misplaced! We stayed at "myhomeindijon" when we took my son's stuff across to him when he started his year at Dijon University in October. It is every bit as good as MI4 reports- in fact it's the best place we've ever stayed!

The only problem is; people who have been don't really want others to go as there's a strong possibility that it could be booked next time we want to return.

We drove from Newcastle with a car loaded with equipment and clothes returning empty- what a wasted opportunity to load up with decent wine from Burgundy!

This flat is for real. I stayed there twice and know of another couple who go there at least once a year or may be more. Coco is great. Her flat is wonderful. It is convenient. I felt like I was at home in her flat. I wish I could go there every year just to hang out.

My apologies: I just looked at the number of Forum posts and neglected to check out reviews. Sorry, MI4.

Have to agree with all the good comments. we have not got there yet - we leave in 10 weeks from australia and Dijon is our second stop and Corinne from My Home in Dijon has been fantastic with her support both before , during and since i have booked. I look forward to meeting this wonderful lady who is so supportive of tourists in France. I have know doubts that we will be more than satisfied with our stay in Dijon.

Hi Sonya -

We wish you well on your trip to Dijon.

Some contributors to this forum do not appear to believe we exist, let alone that we only had positives to say about our stay at MyHomeInDijon. They had our post blocked and we had to lodge a protest - can you believe that? We can assure you that we did stay there and Tripadvisor advised that we could only lodge a review of the property as a forum contribution, because it didn't fit in with the usual parameters they use to classify properties. That's fair enough, so that's what we did.

All that aside, we think that you have made a pretty good choice for your accommodation in Dijon. Did we say that we only had positives to say about it?

Please give our regards to Coco and the owl. To us, they came to symbolise Dijon and all the good things about Burgundy.

Enjoy.

Patrick and Anne from Melbourne.

Thanks Patrick and Anne

we can't wait to meet Coco in Dijon - but give us some inside info -who is the owl?

I have sent some photos of Adelaide to Coco at her request - I like the idea of her wanting to see photos of where her clients come from. I am very impressed with her professionalism .

We have 7 gorgeous weeks to look forward to in france - can't wait .

Hi M14 and Sonja,

I enjoyed reading your comments. We are also staying there in May. Our dealings with Coco have been great and we can't wait to see the place for ourselves.

Coco made the comment that 2009 looks like being a year of the Aussies for her and it certainly seems that way.

Roll on May 6 when we leave for France!
