 great wine tour from Dijon

I just want to refer everyone to a source for a wonderful tour of the Cotes d'Or. Contact Max and Beatrice Renau from their website for Dijon Rent-a-Home. They rent apartments in Dijon in several locations which are perfectly located in the Centre Ville and well suited for a longer stay in the region. Max conducted a tour for us that lasted the whole day and included three great wine tastings in Nuit St. Georges, Volnay, and Orches. We plucked grapes in the Clos Veugot, and lunch in Volnay was wonderful. The last tasting in Orches was particularly memorable for various reasons; I will leave it to you to dicover for yourself! We also visited Chateauneaf en Auxios and a town and barge on the canal nearby. Max is very knowledgeable about the region, about wine, and he has the contacts to give you a great experience meeting vignerons in the region.

I did this tour on 8 November 2007 and also stayed in one of Max and Beatrice's apartments in the old city of Dijon.

I'd highly recommend the wine tour with Max. It was a very memorable day. The wine tasting at Orches was stunning for the view and the experience of talking to someone who comes from a family that's been making wine for 17 generations in the same place.

The apartment in the Rue Berbisey was much larger than I expected. It was very comfortable and close to the sights of Dijon. I highly recommend the boulengarie close by in the Place Zola was stunning. The Dijon restaurants that Beatrice recommended were also suberb.

If you like wine, good food, wandering around medieval streets and through galleries and museums - you cannot go past Dijon and the Cote D'Or.
