Le ferme de tayac

Looking at a B & bB called Le Ferme De Tayac.

Has anyone heard of it or know anything about it.

It looks nice butwe are concerned about booking it online as we cannot find any reviews.

I don't know it but there's a lot of info on Google.

Seems it's been voted the best B & B in the Dordogne for the last 2 years so I think this is recommendation enough.

Note, no smoking or children!

also haven't stayed there but let me recommend the Hotel Rosaraie in Montignac -- even if you don't choose to stay there, it is worth booking dinner while you are in the neighborhood -- we have had truly wonderful service and meals there on several occasions

just across the river from the ticket office for Lascaux II

I saw all the sites on google ..Just was hesitant about putting a credit card on line when all the sites seem to be the same link. I couldn't find who voted it the best B&B

Thanks

Ferme de Tayac is lovely, and the owners are wonderful people. I know them through a mutual acquaintance, and would not hesitate to book with them.

I'm certain you'll have a wonderful time.

Incidentally, the 'no children' is not by the owners' choice -- the property is quite old (although beautifully restored) -- and it's a liability issue regarding steep staircases, etc.

I have stayed at Ferme de Tayac, and it is an amazing B&B, The hosts Suzanne and Mike make you feel welcome and at home the minute you walk onto the property.

Ferme de Tayac uses PayPal for their bookings, so you don't have to worry about that.

If you do stay at Ferme de Tayac, you must ask them about the caves, viewpoint and Templars Ruin, because it is only know to locals, and is not mentioned in any books or guides.

Enjoy the area, it is truly amazing.

To add more info about the "No Children" policy, unlike Sunshine817 stated it actually has nothing to do with Ferme de Tayac itself, Ferme de Tayac does not have any steep staircases, it has to do with the swimming pool.. European law states that any property that has paid guests with children have to have double security measures around the pool.. Ferme de Tayac has an alarm system in the pool, but because Ferme de Tayac is next to a Fortified National Monument (St Martin) there is an issue about putting a 5 ft fence around it.. by law if they have guests with children they have to have a fence around the pool, but the "Batiment de France" (National Monument) does not allow it, so until the issue is sorted they are forced to have a No Children policy, but I believe it only means children 0-11

Thank you to everyone for all of your responses. We are going to book this property...hopefully they won't be booked up. As far as no children I actually like that idea as I have 4 of my own and vacationing without them and anyone elses is going to be nice. Don't get me wrong I love them to death ..

Thanks Mary

Just back - it was fantastic. They have 5 lovely double rooms, a lovely big breakfast room and a lovely garden and pool.

We were made etremely welcome - had use of the pool everyday after being out in the car. Beer and wine was available very cheaply and we even had a meal the first night - 5 courses, soup, pate, duck, cheese and chocolate mouse.

Would recommend it to my best friend!
