Late September in Bidart

We are considering a few days in Bidart in the last two weeks of September, but are unsure if that is really too late in the season.

Will restaurants still be open and what is the most likely weather/temperature scenario?

We'd like some choice of places to eat, visit and wander around.

Probably won't have a car, but happy to go out on bus and train to visit up and down the coast.

Any guidance most welcome.

In France kids go back to school next week. As Bidart is a popular tourist camping destination some places will start closing down soon after.

The weather can still be nice though. You can keep an eye on the weather by reading my daily report here: biarritzairporttransfers.com/biarritz-surf-r…

Have you chosen a campsite in BIdart?:

Camping de la Plage

Camping Erreka

Camping Ilbarritz

Camping Le Parc

Pavillon Royal

Le Ruisseau

Camping Oyam

Sunêlia Berrua

Camping Ur Onea

If not, perhaps go for one in Biarritz. It is less affected by the seasonal holidaymakers. There are only two to choose from though:

Camping de Parme

Biarritz Camping

Many thanks.

We're considering Itsas Mendia hotel - has a heated pool!

If not we may go to Bordeaux and save the coastal towns for next summer.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were camping. Perhaps because Bidart is full of campsites.

Yes that hotel is in a great location: right in the centre of the old town. Buses to Biarritz are provided by http://www.chronoplus.eu
