In Killarney just 3 miles from Killarney town centre is Muckross House and Gardens with Traditional Farms.

Dingle is just over a an hours drive away capturing the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Inch Beach on route - It is home to Fungi the Dolphin and has a fun filled aquarium- many nice cafes and restaurants to have lunch in and gift shops to browse through- continue into the gaeltacht( irish speaking area) steeped in Irish History and return back to base via Slea Head and Tralee for the round trip.

The roads are narrow but at this time of year not so busy. Don't forget your camera!

Many of the hotels in Killarney town have leisure centres and swimming pools so the youngest can unwind with a swim before bed.

Walk up to Torc Waterfall or take a hike for approx 1.5 miles to Dinis Cottage from that Car park and sample some lovely home baked breads , soups and cakes - the 3 lakes of Killarney meet just outside the cottage - check for boat trips from Muckross House boathouse also....

Another action packed day of breathtaking scenery is following the Ring of Kerry route - approx 150 miles - weather pending as it takes in a lot of coastline - you will pass through such towns as Killorglin- home of Ireland's oldest festival , Caherciveen , Waterville ,Sneem once Ireland's cleanest town and Kenmare (Neidin - which means little nest in Irish) a famous heritage town - perfect place to stop for dinner.

Caves near Castleisland - a town east of Farranfore Airport.

Enjoy your trip! You definately won't be bored !!

Hi Satisfaction,

Peig has given some good advice. If you do a search on this site you will get lots of information on what to do. Are you looking for B&Bs or Hotels or Self-Catering?

My kids have always loved putting on their wellingtons and splashing about in Muckross Gardens. They also love wading in the puddles and feeding the swans at Ross Castle.

If you drive over to Tralee, the Aqua Golf at the Aquadome is great fun for all the family.
