Yes the Cliffs of Moher are great but a bit out of your way maybe. Depending on what way you are driving there a re nice spots along Lough Derg, or maybe stopping in Loughrea along the lake for a walk and picnic. Really depends on your destination and route you would prefer.

Hello. You could drive through the Burren, which is magnificent, and then stop at the Dysert O'Dea castle just outside of Ennis, a nice town. Also, south of Limerick is Lough Gur, a very interesting place to visit. If you stayed a bit north, you could drive to Portumna, which has a castle, over to Birr, which also has a castle and beautiful gardens, head south to Cashel from there, which is where the Rock of Cashel is, and then a short drive over to Tipp. Hope this helps, and enjoy.

When you say Tipperary, do you mean the town of Tipperary or somewhere else in the county of Tipperary?

If you travel via Loughrea and Portumna into north Tipperary, these might help with suggestions:

and from an older TA post:

And, the Loughrea area:

The logical route to Nenagh is as above via Loughrea and Portumna down the eastern side of Loughderg.

I would take the lake road R351 from Loughrea towards Woodford, you will come to Ballinakill crossroads after 10miles and turn left R353 towards Abbey (named because of Kilnalahin Abbey) and Kylemore (which doesn't have an Abbey). This brings you to the outskirts of Portmna passing the Forest Park on your right. The Castle and Marina are accessed by taking the right turn facing the Church. There are roadworks on the Shannon swing bridge which spoil the view but don't cause much delay. The Ferry Pub do good food if the timing's right for a break. There are two choices for dropping down to Nenagh either the main N65 or the scenic route down the R493 Lough Derg drive.

Should be a lot more doable than doing it from Galway given the distances. Try the BusEireann website for buses, you would need to know the town names you want to visit and then just search for journeys from Limerick city.

Harriet, Tipperary is easily done as a day trip from Limerick.

Tipperary shares a border with Limerick, so quite a lot of it is within a half hour to an hour's drive away from Limerick.

If you have a car, you could probably do it in a half day, depending on where in Tipp you want to visit.
