Street Fairs in Galway

Does anyone know the dates of the great street fairs in Galway. Some years back we went during an Ireland trip and it was a delight -food, crafts, music, etc. Taking 3 teenage granddaughters and family on a "roots" trip in July.

Also, the Intl. Arts Festival is in mid July. How crowded and crazy is that event? Thanks

Hi, Hope you had a nice Christmas.

The fair your referring to is probably the Saturday morning market. I can't off hand think of anything else that would have food, crafts etc. It's held every Saturday Morning beside St Nicholas's Church just of Shop Street. It's a wonderful way to spend some time and have a browse. As regards the Arts Festival,Yes it's crowded , maybe not as crowded as the Galway Races but there would be a great buzz around the city and accomodation is scarce so I 'd book ahead. The Macnas parade is worth seeing It's usually on the middle Sunday of the festival.
