Fairyhouse Racecourse

Wondering what the best way of getting out to Fairyhouse racecourse on a Sunday in December. There are approx 24 of us coming over so would we be best hiring a mini bus ?

If so approx how much would we be looking at ?

Any tips would be appreciated !

As far as I can make out from www.buseireann.ie/ there is a bus from Dublin to Ratoath which takes in Fairyhouse. But of course there is no Sunday service!

According to the website they introduced a direct service to the races some years ago but I don't know whether they still run this. Maybe you could send them an enquiry about it. Just click on Contact Us at the bottom of the page.

Fairyhouse's website also mentions extra public transport during the races but don't give any other information about this.

Then again, it might be better to hire a mini bus and be independent of public transport. Unfortunately I cannot give you any information on this.

It would probably be easier, quicker & cheaper to get 5 taxis. You need to leave pretty early as Fairyhouse racecourse is a tough place to get into as there is only one main road in.

First race in December would begin around 1230, so if leaving from Dublin City Centre, I would start off no later than 11am. Otherwise be prepared for chaotic traffic ! And maybe miss the 1st race.

It is one big bottleneck.

Try the bus route planner

or there's a local cab company that are pretty good, if you get in there early they may be able to do something for you
