If you're not here to play golf, don't stay out there.

That's about an 8Km walk (5miles) Walking at 12 mins per Km would mean 1.5 hour walk. Better to get a bus or taxi !!!

Enjoy the Castleknock hotel, nice place.

The 10 minute walk through a park possibly meant the walk to Castleknock village not Dublin City Centre.

It would take a couple of hours at best to walk to the city centre from Castleknock Hotel I'm afraid! Nearest train station is Coolmine, which would bring you to Connolly station. Bus route is no. 37, get off at Carpenterstown. Castleknock Hotel is not particularly publictransport friendly IMO.

You wouldn't walk Chesterfield Avenue in ten minutes. And the hotel is a long way from there.

Hi bartsimp,

That 10 minutes would be a drive through the park. It's close to the city centre as the crow flies or even with your own transport, but because the bus isn't allowed go through the Phoenix Park, the 40 mins bus journey would be about right at a busy time of the day, about 20 - 25 mins off peak. There is a walkway directly across the road from the main entrance to the hotel that will bring you to the bus stop.....this will take about 5 mins to walk, you can add another 5 mins walk to get to Coolmine train station, where a train journey into Connolly station takes about 20 mins. The hotel itself is very nice and is in a nice country setting. There are some good pubs nearby if you get fed up with the excitement of Temple Bar ;-)

Btw a Taxi home from town in the evening will be about €22.
