Just after arriving back from the beach! Yes after God knows how many weeks of gunk, Summer (belatedly) has arrived in style and we have had 2 whole days in the sand.....

and good news is - set to last for another week!!

Ain't life just grand.

pkpj

sounds wonderful :-)

we found a fabulous sandy beach near Renvyle when we drove down from Mayo through Doo Lough Valley.

The children (and parents!) spent a very happy afternoon on the beach, but did not brave the water!

(A few pictures of the beach now posted on my profile).

Such a gorgeous area - and one we will return to some time for a "proper" stay (ie 2 weeks self-catering).

:-)

Tell me about the weather.

I was in Ballyvaughan and the Burren yesterday, Dingle, Kenmare and Killarney today, Ballybunion, Listowel and Tralee tomorrow and boring old Ennis the day after.

The weather made for amazing views and photos as I carry my digital camera everywhere with me just in case.

The view from Burren house in Ballyvaughan right on the bayside is amazing. The entire visitor centre is made from Slate(well masonry behind it) and blended into the scenery. Restaurant with panoramic views of Galway Bay.

Amazing!

Pulled the curtains on Saturday morning, saw this big shiny yellow disc in the sky... fell down on my knees and worshipped.

Sunshine in Leixlip since Saturday with the very occasional cloud cover.

Shorts and t-shirts have been hastily retrieved from their winter storage, I even saw some sandals (of course without socks!!!) being sported down the village.

People, make the best of it while it lasts!

Spent yesterday on Portmarnock beach. Just beautiful. Then today we took off to Dublin Zoo. It was glorious and guess what , we had it all to ourselves :-)

Dear Pkpj,

Is it OK to wear my bikini in Clifden at the end of September?

Yours insincerely,
