How exciting! The Muckross House on the Ring of Kerry would be a neat place to pop the question. Have fun!

Agree with previous poster - In Muckross there are a number of areas - the Boat House (down the main lawn and to the left) or in the wooded areas to the right of the main lawn. This is unsignposted, but you follow the path around the lake, to the right and go under a bar preventing bikes etc. This area is beautiful - you can sit alone by the lakes with the shaded trees in the background.

Glenbeigh Beach - the closest you will get to heaven on earth!

Ross Island - The walk close to the castle. This area, going toward the old copper mines is lovely.

Finally, Caragh Lake - Anywhere is heaven there.

On a more prosaic note, get the Tarbert-Killimer Ferry if going from Killarney to Galway, it should save some time and the Limerick traffic jams.

Please let us all know the answer!! Good Luck.

Can recommend a fab and romantic place to stay just outside of Galway called Killeen House. Small but with wonderful rooms and great breakfasts. Check out www.killenhousegalway.com

Are you getting married in Longford or attending a wedding? Can also recommend lovley B&B if you need one there.

Ross castle in Killarney, you can get a little boat across to Innisfallen island to the monastery ruins for as long as you like.
