we are thinking about booking a weekend break at the Scotland Hotel they offer a 2 night romantic break (it our 23rd wedding anniversary)my question is! has anyone stayed there recently i have read the reviews and they are a mixed bunch.

they do offer diffrent packages walking, golf and whiskey tours etc but if anyone has tried the romantic break and could give me some feed back it would be great

thanks westie

I havn't stayed in Scotland's Hotel but was in it last weekend.

The areas I was in were very nice and quite modern, food was excellent ,had haunch of Venison on the friday night and enjoyed it so much went back on saturday night and got their excellent fish & chips.Service was good and very friendly.

Sorry I don't do "Romantic" so can only give my personal veiw on the services I had.

We stayed in it on the weekend of 4th July 08 and posted this review: tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g186566-d226…

I would read it and think again, i wouldn't go back.

I am awaiting a call from the manager and i will post an update on his viewpoint.

have just read your review and panic has set in

we are staying in an upgraded room in the main hotel they did offer us the bank annex but i didnt like the idea of walking from one the other so picked the main hotel.

we booked this as a treat for our wedding anniversary and dont like the idea of our break being spolit with sub standard food and accomadation hope your review gets people to pull their fingers out.

thanks for getting in touch

I spoke to the manager last night, and he has offered us the opportunity to go back for 2 nights for free to show that what we experienced was a one off.

He did confirm that everyone of the points we made were correct, and that they were not to his standards and that he will be making changes, and he apologised for the stay we had.

To be honest that really impressed me, it takes a strong manager to come out and say that they made a mistake.

We will be going back to see if there are any changes, and i will post an honest review detailing the stay.

Pitlochry is a lovely place, and i would recommend a stay. I hope my excessive post didn't put you off Pitlochry!

Good Luck.

alankatrina,

hope your 2nd visit is more succesful than your 1st, its only 1 week until we go so i will leave a review when i get back.

we love the area and have spent time in aberfeldy, dunkeld etc the white water rafting is great up there.we also enjoy the walking so if the hotel is bad we know we can do lots outside

thanks again Westie

Thats a great result and well done the manager for his great customer relations.

As I said in my reply earlier i was only in a small area of the hotel and thought it very nice,I must admit the food was quite superb and that is why we returned for a second meal.

Hope you enjoy your next visit.
