Best nightclub for late twenties?

Hi could anyone tell me any decent nightclubs in Glasgow that's not just full of kids? I'm 26 and anywhere I seem to go makes me feel really old!

take a look at the likes of the berkeley suite and corinthian. sub club might fit the bill some nights and sleazys could be a good match some nights if youre all about the music and dancing rather than decor. they are also purveyors of award winning burgers im the upstairs bar. give the shimmy club a body swerve. check the skinny or the list online for whats on :)

At that age I would stay away from Sauciehall Street and head for the more upmarket Corinthian which also has a Casino in it or One Up in Royal Exchange Square. Next door to One Up you also have Common which is another nice nightclub aswell as The Social which is good for cocktails and is one of my favourite places in Glasgow. You could also check to see if there are any events on at the Arches or SubClub.

GlasgowBear, Common at Royal Exchange Square is no more, or at least its now called The Shimmy Club (not to be confused with the original Shimmy Club) and has recently gained worldwide notoriety for having a two-way mirror in the ladies washrooms. Long story reported here if you're interested: guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/20/scottish-night…

As mentioned above, if you're into Dance music Glasgow is great, usually there are a couple of "A-list" bookings over the city.

The Arches often has something good on so it's worth checking their site. The Sub Club (which regularly gets vote in the best clubs in the world) usually has some great booking and usually a great atmosphere too.

St Jude's, the Berkley Suite and also La Chertah can also be great.

Places to avoid: Victorias, Play, the Savoy.

PurpleC: I had no idea that the Shimmy Club has taken over from Common. Shame I always enjoyed Common.

StuFos: Play is now called Replay. I would agree with you about the Savoy, although I like the music in there its not worth the hassle as it can be full of idiots.

Mark that Jaks club looks like it might be a popular spot for crazy hen nights. What kind of music do they play?

For anyone looking for a club night during the month of July, its worth mentioning that The Arches shuts down for the whole month. Not sure what the age demographic at the O2 ABC is like these days but might be worth a closer look maybe?

Buff club usually has an older crowd I think, they do soul, funk, "vintage r&b" and it's quite snazzy inside. I think Polo has a mix of different ages (it's a gay bar/club) and they do a mix of music.

Avoid the garage and probably avoid the ABC (well anywhere) on student nights.
