Hi will be attending a wedding in Scotland this summer, and thinking of getting the family tartan on. Any suggestions where to have them made. Possibly leaning towards the trews and jacket.

I had tartan trews made for my son to wear at his First Communion at Thomas Gordon's at 19 Queen Street, Glasgow. This company have been kiltmakers for very many years. I can remember my dad doing business with them 45 years ago when he was the Treasurer of a pipe band.
If you are on Queen Street walking from Argyle Street towards George Square their premises are located on the left hand side. If memory serves me right you enter through a cobbled pend to the left of Tam Shepherd's Trick Shop (a Glasgow institution). They can be contacted on 0141-221-2234.

Thanks for your reply Lindsay, but I will be visiting Edinburgh in a few weeks time and had hoped to get measured up for them there.
you could try geoffrey tailor kilts on the royel mile or howie at 21st century kilts, only problem it might take a couple of trips for fittings.
I have had both made by Geoffrey and his son Howie at 21st Century. They also weave their own cloth at the foot of the Castle esplanade so you know you are getting a genuine quality Scottish product.
Are these shops interesting to visit just out of interest? (ie is there much to look at?) or any souvenirs?
Geoffrey also owns the 'Old Town Weaving Co' at the foot of the Castle esplanade [The Old City water tank] where you can watch the tartan being woven along with various other exibits and lots of tourist things to be had, as well ask being able to get measured for your Jacket, Kilt or Trews
Thank you!
