princess st apartments, waterloo place. Restaurant needed

Hi everybody. We are in Edinburgh on Sunday night and staying at the princess st apartments on Waterloo place. We are looking for somewhere to eat early evening that is close by, we will have a baby with us so do not want to venture to far from our apartment. Any type of food / price bracket as we are not bothered as long as it is a nice atmosphere, fairly relaxed place. Thanks

Hi, Howies Bistro Waterloo Place just steps away from the Apex Hotel might fit the bill.

Howies is the nearest and it's not bad. If you drop down to the top of Leith Walk there are a large number of places - Italian, Indian etc.

I had the driest fish I've ever eaten at Howies in Waterloo Place. The rest of the meal was ok

I agree with the above suggestions. To augment a shade: Howie's is good. The Parliament House Hotel also has a bistro open to all comers. Further afield, there's a food court with a wide range of chain-type restaurants in the Omni cinema complex, and a lot of independent restaurants in the area a few yards further towards and on Leith Walk. However, whilst the best are very good, the quality of those varies widely, so don't just trust to luck - check the reviews here and elsewhere before you depart!

Hi. How far are you willing to venture? Howies is very close by, but if you are able to walk perhaps 10 minutes more, you open up a world of excellent dining possibilities on George St, Rose St.

Mussel Inn for superb fresh seafood in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Or Cafe Andaluz for paella and Tapas.

Tex Mex 2 for chilled and funky Mexican.

So many options, you could let your imagination go wild :)

Elliot's Restaurant straight across the road in the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel. They do a great early dining/pre theatre option as well as a full a la carte menu. Great Kids Menu and also offer Ella's Kitchen foods for babies.
