Cheap hotels for a girlie weekend

Please can you make suggestions for a cheap but nice hotel possibly with a swimming pool for 3 mums who want to escape for a couple of nights at the end of February. Want to all stay in the same room and be close to shops and small restaurants and pub grub we are all on a budget.

Have already contacted Appex Hotel to see if they will let 3 of us in the same room but no reply yet.

All suggestions welcome

The Apex would probably tick most of your boxes and has a pool too. They often do good deals. Not sure if they have triple rooms.

A compromise position might be the Travelodge which accommodates three adults, though I'm not too sure if the bed configuration would suit:

I meant to add this bit about Apex:

"We have a number of family rooms (City Queen Double), which - surprise, surprise - are specially designed for families. These include two queen size double beds and a spacious feel that makes family living easier.

If your children are under 12, they can stay and eat free, as long as there are two adults sharing a room with them.

Book a family room by calling 0845 365 0000.

Please note, you can't book family rooms online and they are subject to availability."

They may let you have one of those rooms perhaps?

The swallow hotel sometimes has deals on and they have a pool and gym. not in the centre a taxi would be about 8 pounds or maybe slightly more. i am not sure if they run a courtesy bus. might be worth a phone call.

Swallow is a bit of a dump.

Apex or "The Hotel Broughty Ferry" would be best.

HBF is really nice, pool, brilliant food (Indian food a speciality). Lots of good pubs in BF too and £6 into town in a taxi.

The Swallow is no more - has been bought and now called The Landmark.

Now a building site and a dump
